Reading Expert: Books for Kids of All Ages to Celebrate Black History Month

Cindy WelchSIS Clinical Associate Professor Cindy Welch produced a list of recommended books for children and young adults in conjunction with the UTK Office of Communications and Marketing. The following is an exerpt from the article:

Kids of all ages can celebrate Black History Month through books that explore rich contributions that have been made by African Americans.

“There are so many talented black authors and illustrators creating quality books for youth,” said Cindy Welch, associate director of UT’s Center for Children’s and Young Adult Literature. “There is more work to be done exploring African American contributions to our world, and these are just a few books that can inspire the next generation of movers and shakers.” To read the full article, see TN Today Black History Month books article.
