CCI BOV Chair Bonnie Carroll Receives Economic Council Award

Bonnie CarrollThe College of Communication and Information's Board of Visitors (BOV) Chair Bonnie Carroll received the East Tennessee Economic Council’s (ETEC) Muddy Boot Award for 2012 at the ETEC annual awards event.

The Order of the Muddy Boot (http://www.eteconline.org/championing/muddy-boot) is arguably the Oak Ridge / Department of Energy (DOE) community’s most prestigious honor, given to celebrate key leaders who have made “significant and long-term contributions to the East Tennessee area with respect to federal government programs and its spin-offs by leveraging the federal presence to create private sector jobs.”

"Bonnie’s contributions to Oak Ridge and East Tennessee are certainly significant," said Mary Beth West, fellow BOV member and principal of Mary Beth West Consulting, "but as most of us know, her leadership as an information services pioneer – and particularly her work with a host of federal agencies at the highest levels – has contributed significantly to the advancement of our country’s information management interests and at the international level as well."

Bonnie Carroll is chairman and chief knowledge officer of the company she founded, Information International Associates headquartered in Oak Ridge, TN.
