Fall 2007 Emails to Majors

MESSAGE FOR ADVERTISING AND PUBLIC RELATIONS MAJORS - FALL 2007

CONGRATULATIONS TO the 27 new advertising majors and the 40 new public relations majors admitted to the School last week.  There are now 147 undergraduate advertising majors and 127 public relations majors.

GROUP ADVISING sessions are set for Wednesday, Oct. 17.  Public Relations students will meet at 12:15 p.m. and Advertising majors will meet at 4:30 p.m.  Both sessions are in Room 208 Communications Building.  Please mark your calendar.

A CAREER FAIR providing information about internships and jobs for students in the college is set for Thursday, Nov. 1, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The fair will be held in the University Center.

STUDENTS in the School are working on projects for several outside clients this semester.  Clients include the Army National Guard, Tennessee Tourism Development Commission, Idle-Air, and Disney's Animal Kingdom Park.

Internship: Marketing & Development Department

The position entails working with 20 retail locations throughout 15
counties to prepare store promotions, press releases, assistance with
planning and implementing special events and material drives for a
nonprofit organization.  You will report directly to the Vice Presidentof Marketing/Development & Sales and will work closely with both the
Special Events Coordinator and the Sales Coordinator. Please respond to

Marketing Communications Coordinator,
