Why the forum

The purpose of this forum is three-fold. The first is to begin a discussion as to how best generate a source for viewing faculty research interests across the college, and the second for identifying interdisciplinary research and publication opportunities across the College.  First thoughts are to capture the research profiles of faculty through key word descriptors that would then be organized in the form of a controlled vocabulary or thesaurus.  This tool would should hierarchical research relationships across the college as well as near or close relationships between research agendas.  The descriptors could also be used for matching faculty profiles with particular funded grant opportunities.  We invite you comments and interest in the forum.
