A Public Conversation on Web Journalism to Take Place April 1

A Public Conversation on Web Journalism will take place Wednesday, April 1, in the Toyota Auditorium of the Howard Baker Jr. Center for Public Policy from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Students who wish to receive a box lunch must pre-register by e-mailing Dr. Jim Stovall at jgstovall@gmail.com.

The Tennessee Journalist hosted event will feature Bob Benz, chief operating officer of Radiant Markets and former vice-president for Interactive at Scripps Networks. The event also will give attendees the opportunity to have one-on-one conversations with Web journalism professionals from Volquest.com, Scripps Networks, KnoxViews and the Knoxville News Sentinel.

"We thought we would try to get as many professional Web journalism people as we could in the area into the same room with a number of students and let them have, for the most part one-on-one and small group conversations," Stovall said. "What makes this event so special is the opportunity it provides for UT journalism majors to make connections in the Knoxville area. This can help students secure internships and jobs near UT during school or after graduation."
