--College honors students and faculty at annual convocation
The College of Communication and Information presented awards to its top students and faculty members Monday, April 21 at the college's annual Honors Convocation. The event was held in the University Center Ballroom and honored more than 75 students and faculty members from each of the college's four schools. Read more>>

--Journal accepts Hoy's article on online privacy and security
Mariea Hoy's article, "Online Privacy and Security Practices of the 100 Largest U.S. Nonprofit Organizations," co-authored with Joe Phelps, University of Alabama, has been accepted for publication in the International Journal of Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Marketing.

--Kotowski presents papers at health communication conference
Michael Kotowski recently presented two co-authored papers at the Kentucky Conference on Health Communication at the University of Kentucky: "Action Tendency Emotions Associated with Memorable Breast Cancer Messages and Prevention and Detection Behaviors" and "Increasing Intentions to Use Hearing Protection in Auto Repair Workers Using the Using the Extended Parallel Process Mode."

--WUTK tops Metro Pulse poll for third consecutive year
Student-run radio station WUTK-FM 90.3 "The Rock" has been voted best Knoxville radio station for the third straight year by readers of the Metro Pulse, a Knoxville weekly. "The Funhouse" hosts, Rob and Derek, were runners-up in the best radio personality category. For the second year, WUTK-FM General Manager Benny Smith won runner-up to Coach Bruce Pearl for Best Knoxvillian. For more information, visit the Metro Pulse.
--The New York Times publishes article by JEM lecturer
"Long in the Shadows, a Player's Legacy Is Restored," by JEM lecturer Chris Wohlwend was published in the April 18 edition of The New York Times. The article tells the story of Jackie Walker, an All-American linebacker at UT and his eventual induction into the Greater Knoxville Sports Hall of Fame.
