--Cable Mavericks Lecture Series brings Scripps execs to CCI classes
The College of Communication and Information will host The Cable Center's Cable Mavericks Lecture Series on Tuesday, March 4. Doug Hurst, senior vice president and general manager of non-linear distribution at Scripps Networks, and Annette Brun, vice president of marketing at HGTV, will speak to classes and attend a reception. The Cable Center and Scripps are interested in recruiting students from all CCI majors and representatives from both will attend a 2:30-4 p.m. reception in the Communications Building third-floor lobby the day of the lecture. The reception is open to the public and students are encouraged to attend. For more information, see the news release.

CENTER FOR INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION STUDIES

--Watch portions of today's 30th Annual College Research Symposium online
Two sessions of today's 30th Annual College Research Symposium will be available for viewing online during the sessions and will archived for later viewing. The first session is an 11:25 a.m.-12:25 p.m. panel presentation featuring four CCI alumni. The second session is a 12:30-2 p.m. keynote luncheon address featuring alumnus Reggie Murphy, director of research for Gannett Co. Inc.

--CCI Diversity Program holds second organizational meeting
The next organizational meeting of the CCI Diversity Program will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5 in the Dean's Conference Room (COM 302). The group will continue organizing and discussing CCI Diversity program goals. Dinner will be served.  RSVP to Sherry McNair at smcnair(at)utk.edu by Tuesday, March 4 if you plan to attend.

--Exhibition of Undergraduate Research and Creative Achievement deadline is March 5
The Exhibition of Undergraduate Research and Creative Achievement (EURCA) will be held April 2-4 in the University Center. Participating students display their research and creative work and compete with other undergraduates for prizes - including more than $400 in prize money. Completed "Intent to Participate" forms are due to Dan Haygood by 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 5. Students or their faculty advisors can e-mail the forms to dhaygood(at)utk.edu or bring them by 401E Student Services Building. For more information on EURCA and a copy of the "Intent to Participate" form, visit UT's undergraduate research site and click on the link for "Exhibition of Undergraduate Research and Creative Achievement." -- Graduating seniors can RSVP online for spring/summer 2008 commencement
Registration is now open for eligible students who wish to participate in the College of Communication and Information Spring/Summer 2008 Commencement Ceremony. Students must RSVP at http://www.cci.utk.edu/commencement by Friday, April 25. The event will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 9, in the Knoxville Convention Center.

--SIS Research Forum, 12-1 p.m., Wednesday, March 5, 420 Communications. The School of Information Sciences invites you to hear Dr. Ismail Abdullahi speak on "LIS Education in a Diverse and Global World." The presentation will be webcast. For more information, visit the SIS website.
