Information professionals are facing new challenges with expanding content, new e-environments, and a growing schism between users in terms of their level of e-ability. Allard’s work with high-tech professionals, document creators, earth scientists and students offers some insights into what might be part of the IP2.0 toolkit and how the fundamentals of librarianship continue to stay relevant in a 2.0 world.
- Franciel Azpurua-Linares (SIS ’98) will speak on “Librarians, Information Engineers, and Knowledge Workers, Oh My.” Her talk will provide a bird's eye view of how the information workers of the 21st Century have access to a variety of non-traditional work opportunities in the fluid landscape and nature of the information world.
