-- Knoxville News Sentinel supplement features CCI faculty members and students
Two CCI faculty members and their students are recognized in a Knoxville News Sentinel Outreach supplement published in the Friday, Jan. 18 edition. Lisa Fall and her public relations students are featured in an article entitled "Caregivers enjoy day of celebration through project." Bharat Mehra and information sciences students are featured in an article entitled "Homebound residents live a socially richer life via computers." The Outreach supplement of the News Sentinel is a project of the UT Knoxville Outreach Council. Sam Swan, director of internationalization and outreach for CCI, coordinates outreach activities in the college.

ADVERTISING AND PUBLIC RELATIONS

-- Palenchar publishes one article, will present two others at Beijing conference
Michael J. Palenchar's research paper, "Risk Communication and Community Right to Know: A Public Relations Obligation to Inform," has been accepted for publication in Public Relations Journal. In addition, Palenchar will present two papers at the June 2008 International Conference on Corporate Reputation, Brand, Identity and Competitiveness, in Beijing. The first, "Community Right to Know in China and the United States: Global Implications for Brand and Reputation Management," was co-authored with doctoral student Bernardo Motta. The second, "Yahoo! Inc.'s Reputation Management in China: A Case Study of Corporate Personality and Media Challenges," was co-authored by doctoral student Karen Freberg.

INFORMATION SCIENCES

-- Library Trends publishes article by Mehra
An article by Bharat Mehra and D. Braquet entitled "Library and Information Science Professionals as Community Action Researchers in an Academic Setting: Top Ten Directions to Further Institutional Change for People of Diverse Sexual Orientations and Gender Identities," has been published in the fall 2007 edition of Library Trends.

-- Research forum dates set for spring semester
Mark your calendar now for the spring semester research forums. The forums will be held Monday, Jan. 28; Monday, March 10; and Monday, April 14. All will take place from 12:15 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Arena Dining Room C.
