GROUP ADVISING FOR PUBLIC RELATIONS STUDENTS: Group advising for all public relations students will be held on Monday, March 22. There will be two sessions: one at 12:00 Noon and one at 4 p.m. Both sessions will be held in Com 208. You may attend either session; however, students whose last names begin with the letters A-L should come to the noon session, if possible, and students whose last names begin with the letters M-Z should come to the 4:00 pm session.
Please bring a list of courses you intend to take for summer and fall semesters. If you plan to gradaute in fall and have questions about graduation requirements, bring a copy of your DARS report and your academic history.
IN PLANNING YOUR SCHEDULE FOR FALL, REMEMBER THE PRE-REQS. These are now strictly enforced. You must complete PR 270 before you take any other public relations courses. Journalism 200 and PR 270 are pre-reqs for PR 320. PR 270 is a pre-req for PR 370. Both PR 320 and PR 370 are pre-reqs for PR 470.
BATEMAN COMPETITION. A special section of campaigns (8:10-9:25, TR) has been designated for the Bateman Competition. Students registering for this section of campaigns will be expected to continue work on campaigns during Spring Semester 2005 under an independent study credit.
SUMMER FIELD EXPERIENCE (PR 492). PR 492 is not offered for credit during the summer. However, you can complete 492 during the summer and register for the credit in Fall 2004. To do this, YOU MUST have the internship approved by Dr. Lisa Fall no later than April 30, 2004, and you must file a formal application by that date. You must file your reports in summer as you are completing the work and then register for PR 492 for fall semester.
PR 380--PROFESSIONAL SEMINAR. The public relations program now has its own one-hour professional seminar. If you planning to substitute PR 380 for the field experience requirement, be sure to register for PR 380 and not for Adv 380.
CAN'T FIND COM LAW, COMM 400? Many courses that previously had a COM or JOURN or BRDST prefix, now carry the Journalism and Electronic Media (JEM) prefix. What was formerly known as COM 400 is now listed as JEM 400, Mass Communication Law. The previous Journ 280 is now listed as JEM 280.

PUBLIC RELATIONS MESSAGE
FOR PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICIALLY ACCEPTED MAJORS ONLY
PUBLIC RELATIONS CLASSES are filling up quickly for spring semester. If you have not registered for classes, you need to do so right away. There is still space available in PR 320, PR 370, and PR 470.
IF YOU ARE TRYING TO ADD Adv 380 (Professional Seminar for Public Relations Students) send an email to adv@utk.edu indicating that you would like to be added to the class.
JOURN 280 is closed. However, if you are trying to schedule this class for spring semester, send an email to adv@utk.edu indicating that you would like to add Journ 280 to your schedule. If there are enough public relations students who want the class this spring, we will ask the journalism program to add a section.
We have asked the Comm Studies program to consider adding another section of Speech 440. As of now, they do not have the funding to do so.
THE SCHOOL OF ADVERTISING AND PUBLIC RELATIONS WILL ATTEMPT TO ACCOMMODATE ALL REQUESTS FOR ADVERTISING AND PUBLIC RELATIONS CLASSES AND FOR JOURN 280 THAT IT RECEIVES THROUGH THE END OF THIS WEEK.
