Certificate in Internal Communication and Information Management
Schedule and Cost
The first Certificate in Internal Communication and Information will be offered in the spring and summer of 2009. The opening three-day seminar in Knoxville will be held May 28-30 followed by ten weeks of online training. The online training will require about three hours per week of interaction with faculty and other students. Interaction sessions will be scheduled to minimize time away from work. During the summer faculty will also work with students to apply lessons to "real-time" workplace projects. Participants will then return to the University of Tennessee campus for the final face-to-face session from August 6-8.
Because some participants might live in east Tennessee while others might come from outside the area, housing will not be arranged centrally. However, information about hotels close to campus can be provided as needed. During the on-campus portions of the program, participants will receive breakfast, lunch, and coffee break refreshments. A final celebratory dinner is also included. The fee also covers access to Blackboard for delivery of the online modules. A graduate student will be available to assist with online access as needed throughout the 10 weeks of online learning. All materials (e.g., readings and handouts) are also included.
After this inaugural offering, the costs for the certificate program will be $7,500. Participants in this first session will receive the certificate for the discounted price of $6,000.
