Research / Interpersonal Communication

Research in interpersonal communication seeks understanding of the cognitive, affective, and interaction processes underlying dyadic and small-group human communication. Interpersonal communication is not just limited to face-to-face interactions or intimate relationships. Rather, areas such as conflict, persuasion, self-disclosure, and social support, to list a few, can also fall under the realm of interpersonal communication research. Consequently, the interpersonal communication faculty in CS are interested in uncovering a broad array of processes involved when people communicate with one another.
