Bio
Michelle T. Violanti is an Associate Professor in the School of Communication Studies at the University of Tennessee. Dr. Violanti’s research agenda concentrates on leadership in organizations, instructional communication, and health and wellness. Her leadership research focuses on message strategies and mentoring. The most current project looks at how a leader in a geographically-dispersed organization uses electronic messages to create an interpersonal environment. The purpose of her instructional communication is to determine what communication choices create more and less effective learning environments for students with different learning styles. Finally, the health and wellness research examines the role of spirituality and social support in the healthy behavior choices of college students.
