Oral Communication

The School of Communication Studies offers two courses that, upon successful completion, allow students to meet the University's general education requirement for communicating orally. Communication Studies 210 (Public Speaking) and 240 (Business and Professional Communication) are designed to teach students skills for effective informative and persuasive speaking. The School also offers oral communication workshops to the community and industry that focus on topics ranging from improving public speaking skills to reducing speech anxiety. The following pages contain information that will be useful resources for people enrolled in one of our public speaking courses, attending one of our workshops, or just curious about ways to improve their ability to communicate orally.
