History and Purpose

As a means of establishing communications between the private and academic sectors, the board provides counsel and advice regarding goals and objectives, student experiences, resources and financial support by identifying potential funding sources. In today's ever-changing communication and information environment, the Board of Visitors and Honorary Board of Visitors provide leadership and guidance to help the college better prepare today's students and tomorrow's communication and information leaders.

Mission

The Board of Visitors and Honorary Board of Visitors serve in a collaborative relationship with the leadership and faculty of the College of Communication and Information to improve the educational opportunities of students and advance the reputation of the college's respective schools. Members work as ambassadors to the information and communications industry, potential donors, prospective graduates and the university as a whole. BOV and HBOV members contribute their professional expertise and perspective, time and energy, direct and indirect professional support and lend their influence to the success of the program.
