The Student Animal Legal Defense Fund for the College of Law sponsored its annual costume contest for dogs and their owners at Circle Park on Sunday. The event raised money for the Humane Society.

All Campus Events hosted homecoming participants at Fiji Island Sunday to properly commence Homecoming Week. The events, Kickoff and Anything Goes, proved to be entertaining while also celebrating the spirit of Homecoming among the organizations.

The popular Knoxville Mexican restaurant, Soccer Taco, is now a small chain. The restaurant expanded to Market Square in August 2009, and is experiencing the "perks" of two locations.

After a rash of negative press, Tennessee's Pride of the Southland Marching Band put on a Halloween themed halftime show that may cause many to change their opinion of the typically traditional group. The performance included a dancing segment in the middle of the band's rendition of Michael Jackson's "Thriller."

The UT Symphony Orchestra gave a magnificent performance Sunday to a small, but very lucky audience. Cox Auditorium was filled with the delightful music of Malcolm Arnold and Edward Elgar, two British composers of this century.

Bruce Pearl and the No. 10 Vols basketball team opened up the 2009-2010 campaign with a 117-79 scrimmage win over North Alabama on Friday night at Thompson Boling Arena. Scotty Hopson lead in scoring with 20 points.
